Derby County boss Nigel Clough has moved to clarify the position regarding Alberto Bueno's future at the club, following a national newspaper article which suggested he could leave at the turn of the year.
The 22-year -old Spaniard signed on a season-long loan with the Rams from Real Valladolid at the end of August, and has scored three goals in seven starts.
There is no clause in the loan agreement which allows him to leave during the January transfer window.
Clough told dcfc.co.uk: "Alberto is here until the end of the season; that is the deal.
"If other teams are keeping tabs on him that's their prerogative, but he is a Derby County player for the entirety of this campaign.
"We are delighted with how he has settled in and the contribution he is making.
"The whole team is performing well at the moment and Alberto has played his part in that; it helps that he has plenty of good players around him of course.
"He is a great character as well as being a talented player and we are enjoying seeing him improve week in, week out."
